The city's malls, including the Mic Mac Mall, Halifax Shopping Centre, Dartmouth Crossing, and Sunnyside Mall, will be open from noon to 5 p.m., offering a chance for some mid-day shopping.
Municipal Services and Amenities
Municipal services will be impacted, with all branches of the Halifax Public Libraries closed. Halifax Transit will operate on a holiday schedule, with the Alderney ferry running at a half-hour frequency. The Woodside ferry service, however, will be suspended. On the bright side, recreational facilities like the Halifax Common Pool, outdoor pools, and supervised beaches will be open, providing plenty of opportunities for fun in the sun. The Emera Oval will also be accessible from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., weather permitting.
Waste Management and Mail Services
Waste management services will be affected, with no garbage, organics, or recyclables collection on Monday. The Otter Lake waste facility will be closed, but open on Saturday, Aug. 8. Canada Post will also have no collection or delivery on Natal Day.

The 21st Annual African Nova Scotian Music Association Freedom Festival takes place on Sunday, Aug. 2, with live performances starting at 2 p.m. at the Dartmouth Ferry Terminal Park.
